Ms. Meißnitzer, you own the Gasthof Tetter in Rohrmoos. Why did you specialize in the angler target group?
Nina Meißnitzer: It’s not like we only try to cater to anglers. Due to the wonderful nature around our inn, there are many additional attractions for our guests: from hiking and mountaineering to cycling. But it’s true: fishermen are very welcome here and we have a share of about 35% fishermen in the summer months.
If you consider that these anglers usually do not come alone, but also bring spouses, children and friends with them, then this specialization is very valuable for us.
What are the requirements for a successful approach to fishermen?
Nina Meißnitzer: Of course the opportunities for fishing are the most important thing. In this area, however, we are very well positioned with our Untertalbach, which runs right past the front door. We have focused exclusively on fly fishermen.
I am convinced that many hotel categories are suitable for fishermen: from luxury hotels to down-to-earth inns. We are more of a cozy inn with homemade products, also from the region and meat from our own farm, with Austrian home cooking and regional specialties and our house guests appreciate that – a long list of regular guests proves it.
How do you get to the many fishermen who spend their holidays with you?
Nina Meißnitzer: Of course, as in any other hotel, the regular guests are very important. I am very optimistic that our guests will be very satisfied with the house and the fishing area. As mentioned above, this is best demonstrated by the large number of regular guests, who are already very much friends of the house and family. The offer of our fly fishing school is also widely used by our guests. But we are also happy about new fishermen and our marketing possibilities are not sufficient for that.
