Region Tannheimer Valley – Tannheim

Eight fishable waters in the Tannheimer Valley. “Petri Heil” (fishermen’s greeting) between Lake Vilsalp and Nesselwängler Ache – an all-around perfect nature experience.

The Tannheimer Valley region is well known as a fishing area. In both slow and fast moving waters, fishermen find excellent conditions and varying degrees of difficulty. The flowing waters of Lake Haldensee with its shallow shore are easy to navigate. With a little luck and patience, you will be able to catch pike, whitefish, carp, tench and roach.

It is important to note that only blinkers are allowed here as bait. More skill is demanded from the fishermen in Lake Vilsalpsee, which quickly becomes very deep. However, with beautiful mountain views and good chances to catch char and perch, your effort will be well rewarded.

Those interested in fly fishing will find various waters to choose from. Vils-Ach-Bach, Zöblen fishing waters, Weissenbach fishing waters, Lake Haldensee and Nesselwaengler Ache all provide quality fly fishing experiences. Great skill is required with fly fishing as the fisherman needs a special casting technique. In these waters brook and rainbow trout will bite on the colourful lures. Near Greither Pond you will be able to relax and take a break at the rustic “Fischerhütte” (fishing cabin). A new fishing area since the summer season 2012, the fishpond above Lake Haldensee offers yet another scenic fishing option. Here you can expect a rich stock of trout.
