Kids Learn to Fish: Safe. Easy. Fun.
Learning to fish is easier for kids than many think. In our family-friendly establishments, experienced guides show step by step how children can safely get to the water – with beginner courses, rental equipment and clear rules in Austria. This turns a family vacation by the lake, stream or pond into a first-time catch experience.
Fishing Courses for Children – how it Works
At the beginning, there is a short welcome and a safety check: behavior on the bank, distance to hooks and rods, what to do in case of a change in the weather. This is followed by an understandable introduction to equipment and waters: Which rod is suitable, how does the reel work, which knots hold, where are the fish. Then the children practice casting in a quiet place or on the meadow before going to the water with accompaniment. There, the guides help with the first bite, the drill and the gentle release of the hook.
Most beginner courses last two to three hours, take place in small groups and can also be booked as a private course on request. Rental equipment is often available – simply specify when making the request.
Safety & Rules (Austria)
Fishing is only allowed with a valid permit. Closed seasons, minimum sizes and catch limits also apply to children and vary depending on the federal state and the body of water. Please check the current regulations in advance.
