What began almost 15 years ago in grandma’s soup pot has become in recent years one of the most innovative small breweries in Austria. The name Loncium comes from the old Celtic name for the Mauthen district.

Top tips for fly fishing near Bierhotel Loncium
Are you familiar with the different fly fishing areas in and around Kötschach-Mauthen? Here are some of our personal favourites:

- Bärfalle – „The Gorge“ in hard to reach and untouched nature.

Our Fishing Waters: Fishing Area Planner
In the fishing Area Planner, you will find about two kilometres of wide, wonderful fishing waters.
The fishing area stretches from 40 meters below the Stranigbrücke Bridge until 55 meters in front of the Oberdöbernit Bridge and is clearly marked by plaques and signage.
Fly fishing with a dry fly or a nymph without barbs is allowed in this area.
Two rainbow trout with a minimum of 28 cm may be taken. The removal of grayling, brown trout and Danube salmon is prohibited.
