Fishing in the Bruck Fusch / Fuscher Ache Region

Fishing is allowed with a spinning or fly rod. Artificial lures, minnow- or “Koppen” system, Springer system with a maximum of 3 single hooks / nymphs allowed. Multiple hooks (triplets etc.) on artificial baits are to be replaced by single hooks.

The construction of the “Zeller Becken” flood protection system created ideal habitats for fish and nature through expansion on the sole and shore areas! The groynes and flowstones provide a complex flow pattern. Gravel banks and island areas were created on the tributaries, which present the ideal conditions for fishing. Most of the fish you can catch at the inlets or directly on the shore edges. The chance to catch a good trout on each line casted out has already attracted many

fishermen to the area. You can obtain licenses for the lake canals, the area around the Gries power plant, as well as for Lake Zeller (rowing or motorboat). More information is available with our hosts!

The fishing waters of the Fuscher Ache spring from in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The young mountain stream, which is 35 km in length with its tributary streams, has the extremely high water quality and is called the pearl of the Hohe Tauern.

Dry flies, wet flies, nymphs and streamers may be used as bait (single hook – barbs closed). After the gorge with its various pumps, the stream flows through the two villages Fusch and Bruck before ending into the Salzach River. In the course of a scientific survey, it was determined that the trout is native to the upper area of the Fuscher Ache. This fact is valuable not only for us fishermen, but also for those interested in nature conservation. This confirms that in addition to the areas natural beauty, it is also prized as valuable and worthy of protection!
