Fly fishing area “Donnersbach” in Donnersbachwald
The Donnersbach is an alpine, crystal clear and largely unobstructed, well-structured mountain stream with varied flowing stretches, small pools and a short dammed area. The area has a length of 9 km and stretches from the reservoir at the beginning of the valley to the weir system on Lahrerweg and is a pure fly fishing route in which only barbless fishing is allowed. The fishing water covers the entire Donnersbachwald valley and flows directly past the “Gasthof zur Gams”.

Terms of use:

• Fishing is only permitted within the blue marked zone.
• Fishing is only permitted with a fly rod, fly or nymph.

Fish ponds at the Gasthof Pension Apartments “Zur Gams” *** S
Right next to the inn are several fishing ponds where budding fishermen can try their first fishing attempts. Fishing courses for beginners are also held here.
Rental equipment is available for guests and can be borrowed. Your catch will either be made into a delicious dinner or packed and refrigerated until your trip home.

Fishing grounds on the Enns
The Enns offers varied fishing on 3 sections in a wonderful river landscape. The upper reaches of the Aich to Au are characterized by beautiful trickle stretches and slowly flowing areas, while the areas from Trautenfels to Stainach are characterized by fast flowing stretches.

The Enns Fishing Area from Trautenfels to Stainach
The area begins at the Trautenfels bridge and ends at the Sallaberger bridge near Stainach. Both banks can be used from 16.3. – 15.9. be fished with spinning rods, wobblers, spinners, flies and bait fish on the system. After that, only fly fishing is permitted.
The distance from the Gasthof zur Gams is approx. 18 km.

The fishing area from Aich to Au – fly fishing Aicher Enns
The Enns is a pure fly fishing area from the Assacher bridge to the Prugger bridge and may only be fished with the fly rod. Slow flowing sections, trickle stretches as well as deep gullies allow magnificent trout and grayling to thrive. Brown and rainbow trout are stocked every year.
This area is about 30 km away from the guesthouse Pension Appartements “Zur Gams”.

Fishing in the Zeiringerteich near Stainach in the Ennstal
The Zeiringerteich is located south of Stainach, approx. 20 km from our inn. It has an area of about 7 hectares and an average water depth of 2.5 m, and carp up to 18 kg have been caught here.

Fish species: Carp, pikeperch, pike, catfish, amur

Terms of use:
– Fishing with 2 rods with 1 bait each allowed.
– The use of keep nets is prohibited
– Reset carp and amur without exception
– Only 2 fish per day ticket (of which only 1 predatory fish)
– It is forbidden to take fish alive
– Nordurfer is a closed area – do not fish or enter
– Adhere to closed seasons and minimum dimensions
– Throw the day pass after fishing (even if no fish has been taken) in the mailbox at the entrance to the pond
